Cynthia Carlson

Executive Vice President, Wealth Builders Division

With over thirty-four years of leadership experience in the financial services industry, Cynthia is responsible for all operations, customer support, investment management oversight, and planning for all products and services offered within the Wealth Builders Division. The Wealth Builders Division includes Trust Services, Investment Center and Financial Planning services. Cynthia is active in various Quad City organizations including the Figge Art Museum.

 

Rick Jennings, CPA

Senior Vice President, Trust Officer

Rick is responsible for the management of the Trust Department. He worked for 10 years in the Trust Department at Davenport Bank & Trust (now Wells Fargo) before establishing the department for Quad City Bank & Trust. Formerly a tax specialist with KPMG Peat Marwick, Rick combines trust knowledge and tax experience to provide financial planning expertise for our clients. Rick is a Certified Public Accountant and holds degrees in Accounting and Finance from Northern Illinois University.

 

Peter Benson, JD

Vice President, Trust Officer

Peter is responsible for administering trust and estate accounts and also serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for QCR Holdings, the parent company of Quad City Bank & Trust. Prior to joining the Trust Department, Peter served as a partner at the law firm of Lane and Waterman LLP with offices in Davenport and Moline. Peter has more than 32 years of legal experience and his areas of expertise include tax and estate planning. He received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his law degree from the University of Iowa. Peter has been active in the local community and he currently serves on the Board of Directors for Genesis Health System and on the governance committee of the Figge Art Museum.

 

Tracy Brashears, JD

Vice President, Fiduciary Trust Officer

Tracy is a licensed attorney with experience in trust and estate administration, estate planning, and real estate matters. Prior to joining Quad City Bank & Trust, she had over 10 years of experience, most recently serving as Vice President, Wealth Management Officer for a local financial institution. Tracy received her Bachelor of Business Degree in Management and Finance from Western Illinois University and her Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law. Tracy is a member of the American, Illinois and Rock Island County Bar Associations. She is also a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School, and holds the designation of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA). Tracy is committed to our community; she is a member of Junior League of the Quad Cities, and serves as a Board Member for Dress for Success Quad Cities and the local chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association.

 

William Grimes, CRSP

Vice President, Trust Officer

Bill is responsible for administering trust accounts and developing new business. Prior to joining Quad City Bank & Trust, he worked for 13 years at First Midwest Trust Company in Moline. Bill has served on many boards of directors for non-profit organizations and currently serves on two investment advisory committees. Bill is a graduate of the ABA National Trust School and has earned the designation of Certified Retirement Services Professional. He received his undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University.

 

Paul Schmitt, CPA

Vice President, Trust Officer

Paul is responsible for administering trust and estate accounts in the department. He worked for 8 years as Manager of Tax and Compliance at Rock River Trust Company. His prior employment also included tax and audit experience with McGladrey & Pullen. Paul is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a degree in Accounting from Creighton University. Paul is active in the community as a board member of the Salvation Army, the Youth Service Bureau, Moline Kiwanis, Alleman Booster Club, and Iowa Trust Association. He also volunteers for the John Deere Classic.

 

Brenda Heisch, CTFA, CSA

Vice President, Trust Officer

Brenda is responsible for administering investment management, trust, and estate accounts. She has worked in the financial industry for more than 20 years, the last 10 of which have been in the trust field. She received her undergraduate degree in Finance from Iowa State University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Iowa. Brenda is active in the community serving the United Way and Alternatives for the Older Adult.

 

Todd Larsen

Vice President, Business Development, Trust Officer

Utilizing over 15 years of financial services, Trust, and investment management experience, Todd works closely with clients to provide customized investment management and Trust solutions to meet their diverse objectives. Todd has served on various non-profit boards and is active in the community as President of the Barnstormer Baseball Club, Vice President of Hope at the Brick House, Vice President/Compliance of the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (serving Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas), and is a member of the Bettendorf Rotary Club.

 

Darlene Steffen, CPA/PFS, CFP

Vice President, Certified Financial Planner, Trust Officer

Darlene is responsible for financial planning and for administering Trust and investment management accounts. Darlene has over 30 years of finance, corporate planning and new business start-up experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, a Masters degree in Organizational Management from Webster University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Division, and the National CFP Board of Standards. Darlene is active in her Parish Council and volunteers with Junior Achievement and Winnie’s Place for Women. She has served on the board of Catholic Charities and currently serves on the Quad City Symphony board of trustees.

 

DeAnna Smith, CSA

Assistant Vice President, Director of Trust Operations

DeAnna is responsible for overseeing trust operations. As a Certified Senior Advisor, DeAnna is a valuable professional leader in meeting the key needs and issues concerning senior citizens. Prior to joining Quad City Bank & Trust in 1998, she acquired 22 years of banking experience, specializing in Trust for 11 of those years. She is a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute Trust School.

 

Patti Easley

Executive Trust Operations Assistant

Patti oversees the day-to-day operations of the Trust Department. Patti was responsible for trust operations at First of America Bank (now PNC) in Rock Island for 16 years prior to bringing her experience and knowledge to Quad City Bank & Trust in 1995.

 

Lisa Weese

Trust Administrative Assistant

Lisa provides assistance with trust administration and operations. Prior to joining Quad City Bank & Trust in 2005, she acquired 13 years of trust operations experience while with THE Rock Island Bank (now US Bank) and Southeast National Bank, where she assisted in the establishment of their Trust department. Active in the community, Lisa is a United Way Day of Caring volunteer.

 

Lindsey Jack

Trust Administrative Assistant

Lindsey provides assistance with trust administration and operations. She has over 13 years of banking experience, including Internal Auditor duties for QCR Holdings, Inc., Parent Company of Quad City Bank & Trust. Lindsey is a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and is active in the community as a United Way Day of Caring volunteer.

 

Susan Smith

Trust Administrative Assistant

Susan provides assistance with trust administration and operations. Prior to joining Quad City Bank & Trust in January of 2015, she has acquired 13 years of trust operations and administrative experience and has worked in the financial industry for 18 years. Susan received her Associate of Arts degree in Business from Muscatine Community College.

 

Teresa Ortberg

Trust Operations Assistant

Teresa provides assistance with trust administration and operations. She has over 20 years of banking experience, most recently working as an Administrative Assistant in Human Resources for QCR Holdings, Inc., Parent Company of Quad City Bank & Trust. Teresa is active in the community as a United Way Day of Caring Volunteer.

 

Corrie Mason

Trust Operations Assistant

Corrie provides assistance with trust administration and operations. She has over 14 years of banking experience, most recently working as an Account Executive in Quad City Bank & Trust's retail banking department. Corrie is a graduate of St. Ambrose University with a degree in Business Administration.

 

Kristen Murley

Trust Operations Assistant

Kristen has been with Quad City Bank & Trust since 2011 and has served as a teller and now as a Trust Operations Assistant. Kristen provides assistance with trust administration and operations.

M. Randolph Westlund, CFA

Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer

As Chief Investment Officer, Rand oversees the QCBT Investment Team. He participates in the portfolio management functions for each affiliate bank and its trust department, including investment strategy, asset and economic research, and client portfolio management. Prior to joining QCR Holdings, Inc. in 2000, he served in similar roles in Pennsylvania and Michigan. Rand’s investment career began in the notorious year of 1987, and he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1991. A Midwesterner (for the most part), Rand received his undergraduate degree from Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

 

Dan Zude, CFP

Vice President, Investment Officer

Dan joined Quad City Bank & Trust in 2014. With twenty six years of Trust Administration and Investment Management experience, Dan is responsible for implementing the investment strategies for Quad City Bank & Trust clients. Dan is a graduate of St. Ambrose University with both a Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree in Business Administration. Dan also is a Certified Financial Planner. Active in the community, Dan serves as chairman of the finance committee and board member of the Genesis Health Systems Foundation and is a member of the Quad City Estate Planning Council.

 

Trisha Townsend

Vice President, Investment Officer

Trisha is responsible for building relationships and implementing investment strategies for our Quad City Bank & Trust clients. She has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry, with the last 9 in Investment management. Trisha received her Bachelor’s degree and M.B.A. from the University of Iowa. She is active in the community and volunteers with Junior Achievement, United Way and the University of Iowa.

 

Robert Tupper

Associate Investment Officer

Bob is responsible for the implementation of investment strategies for Quad City Bank & Trust clients. Bob acquired 3 years of trust and investment experience before joining QCBT in 2015. He is both a graduate from Western Illinois University and University of Iowa in Finance and History.

 

Matt Powers

Investment Research Assistant

Matt is responsible for researching and analyzing mutual funds and other holdings for the Investment Team. He joined QCR Holdings, Inc. in 2012 (as an Investment Center Assistant) and joined the Investment Team in 2015. Matt is a graduate of the University of Iowa with degrees in Finance and Marketing.

 

Andrew Messerschmidt

Investment Analyst

Andrew is responsible for researching and analyzing current and prospective investment holdings for the Investment Team. He has been with QCR Holdings, Inc. since 2011 (as an Internal Auditor) and joined the Investment Team in 2014. Andrew has been involved with the United Way through the Day of Caring and Operation Read. Andrew is a graduate of Augustana College with a degree in Accounting. He also completed graduate work at Western Illinois University and obtained an MBA with a concentration in Accounting.

 

Christine Murdock

Investment Administrative Assistant

Christine provides administrative support for the Investment Team, serving as a liaison with clients and producing reports used in connection with marketing and investment presentations. She joined Quad City Bank & Trust in 2010 with a degree in Business. Christine is an active volunteer of United Way and Junior Achievement.
